Creative Coding
Some explorations we have done over the course of Experience Prototyping.
Context
Prototyping playful everyday encounters at the intersection of the digital and the physical.
The goal of this course was to get hands-on practice in making, exploring, and communicating interactive experiences. The main themes of the course were prototyping pranks and electronic arts.

Electronic Arts
Iโve always been fascinated by how cultural practices are deeply rooted in nature and relationships, giving value and agency to everyone involved. In contrast, many modern digital developments tend to reinforce certain norms and often uphold patriarchal structures. Still, I believe thereโs space for meaningful intersections between the twoโmoments that can open up new perspectives on possible futures.
Flipping the cup to reveal a unique coffee reading.
Analysing the random image, symbols and meaning.
Flipping the cup to finish.
Translating the Turkish coffee reading experience into a digital experience.
After finishing the coffee, flip the cup onto the plate and let the pulp slowly flow on it as it's drying. This process allows the coffee to create natural shapes, which then can be interpreted by a person. These shapes all have different meanings related to history and culture, however your reading will also depend on the person reading it.

Some of the readings done by local AI
The art of faking it when experience prototyping ๐
Unfortunately (though not surprisingly) the 'local-tAIsseographer' did not really work all the way through. The AI was torn between not being able to give fortune-tellings and only seeing circles, moons and suns. Since this was a 3 day project I needed to be a bit crafty and fake the authentic reading feeling. Now when the button is pushed by the 'cup' one of ten images are randomly selected, as well as one of twenty readings. This creates a unique reading whenever the button is pushed. So just like the coffee it's unpredictable and random!

Prototyping Pranks
Playing around with the studio sleeping culture โฐ
It's well known that the studio leisure areas are often used for sleeping in between busy schedules. However this can sometimes lead to some awkward encountersโฆ So we wanted to create a trap for sleepy designers, inviting them for a cozy nap but punishing them when they least expect it ๐
